Welcome to Buckeye Retriever Club.
Our mission is the promotion of the working retriever:
- The betterment of retrieving breeds and furtherance of good sportsmanship in the field
- Encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred retrievers and to do all things possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection
- Conduct sanctioned and licensed hunt tests and field trials under the rules of The American Kennel Club.
Buckeye Retriever Club is very thankful and fortunate to have the use of Hambden Nursery, owned and generously made available to club members by the Kittredge Family. On behalf of the Buckeye membership, we thank Jon Kittredge for the ability to enjoy and utilize this unique property. Chessman and his son Jon Kittredege, were very active in field trial competitions and have been big supporters of Buckeye Retriever Club for many years.
Our training grounds are located in Hambden, Ohio. Hambden Nursery, Hambden, Ohio. We host several events a year, including AKC licensed hunt tests and field trials. We work together in an informal venue of training our retrievers to hunt or compete, and support each other in the fellowship, cooperation and learning that can take place when people and dogs are working toward mutual goals.
We welcome new members and would love to have you join us at an upcoming event to learn more about this rewarding sport.
